fitting out of an empty concrete shell in a disused

warehouse on london's regent's canal

 ‘the project brief was to fit out an empty concrete shell for a young couple. 
unit 63 is sited in an old warehouse at the canal.

A device was introduced which, on one side divided and organised the open space, and, one the inside, offered storage for all the things we accumulate during our life. this apparatus sits in the context of the shell without denying its presence. where touching it the old and the new elements are clearly divided. colours create a range of ‘rooms’ for different uses.
the system offered can be redefined and altered according the changes in the daily routines of the user – space and functions are elements of an open game.'

    ‘In eine vorgefundene Betonschale eines alten Lagerhauses am Kanal werden Bereiche und Zuordnungen des Lebens als ineinander übergehende Zonen definiert. Eine Maschinerie wird implantiert die (ER)LEBEN ermöglicht ohne den Kontext zu negieren oder zu verändern. Die Offenheit des angebotenen Systems steht im graßen Gegensatz zu den Zwängen der Benutzung und den Konventionen der Benutzer. Der Umgang mit dem System im Alltag spannt sich zwischen den Beziehungen zum Raum und den veschiedenen Abläufen der Bewegungen zwischen den einzelnen "Räumen".'
